Standardized Test Preparation

Whether students are looking for private school entrance exams (ISEE/SSAT), honors exams (Honors, AP), college entrance exams (SAT, SAT II, ACT), graduate entrance exams (GRE, MCAT), or even professional level exams (board exams, real estate exams), Cognitive Advantage, has a proven track record of helping students attain scores allowing them to achieve their goals.

Standardized Test Preparation

At Cognitive Advantage, our curriculum is relatively compact, averaging 15 hours (ten 1.5 hour sessions), for a full one-on-one standardized test prep program. We understand that your student’s time is extremely valuable and that most students are busy with extra-curricular activities, so we try to minimize the amount of time spent on test prep, while still maintaining a high level of achievement. We typically see improvements of 100-150 points on the SAT, 50-100 points on the SAT II, and 2-3 points on the ACT.

We believe individual tutoring is the key to success. Many of the large corporate tutoring companies have 15 or more students per class with none of the material tailored to the students, and the class will continue regardless of whether students are engaged or not. We work hard to keep our students focused, engaged, and interested – whether it’s cracking a joke, making a goofy mnemonic to help with a concept, or simply allowing the student to get up, walk around, and work the mind-body connection; we pay close attention to our students. For this reason, we do not offer group courses. On a case-by-case basis, we may be able to work with two or three students at a time.
